Is GTA 6 coming to PC? What Xbox said about cloud streaming and what you can do
GTA 6 launches November 19 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Here's what's confirmed about a PC version, why Xbox Cloud Gaming won't help, and your options.
With GTA 6 launching on November 19, a lot of PC players are asking the same question: can I play it? The short answer is not at launch. Here is what is confirmed, what is only rumored, and what your options are.
Is GTA 6 coming to PC?
There is no announced PC version. Rockstar’s launch announcement lists only PS5 and Xbox Series X|S for November 19, 2026, and Take-Two’s recent earnings reports also do not mention a PC release. A PC date has not been given.
What about Xbox Cloud Gaming?
In early October, a report suggested GTA 6 might be playable on PC and other devices through Xbox Cloud Gaming, which streams games from Microsoft’s servers. That raised hopes of a workaround.
It did not last long. An Xbox executive replied publicly that GTA 6 would not be streamed to PC, and would not be exclusive to Xbox. So Xbox Cloud Gaming is not a way to play GTA 6 on PC at launch.
Is a PC version rumored?
Yes, but it is only a rumor. Some gaming sites have reported talk of a PC release around the first quarter of 2027. Rockstar has not confirmed this, so treat it as speculation. Past Grand Theft Auto games did reach PC later than consoles, but that is not a promise for GTA 6.
Are there PC system requirements?
No. Rockstar has not published official requirements, because there is no PC version to list them for. Any table you see online is a community estimate. The console version is reported to need around 210 GB of storage, but a PC size has not been given.
What can PC players do now?
- Wait for an announcement. This is the safest and cheapest option. Follow Rockstar’s official channels for news.
- Play on a console. If you want it on November 19, a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S is the only supported way.
- Use remote play from your own console. Both PlayStation and Xbox let you stream games from a console you own to a PC. Neither Rockstar nor the console makers have said how this will work for GTA 6, so don’t count on it.

Watch out for fake “GTA 6 PC” downloads
Whenever a big game launches without a PC version, scammers move in. Expect fake “GTA 6 PC” installers, “leaked builds”, cracks and “early access” keys. These are a common way to spread malware that steals passwords and game accounts.
- Only download from official stores or Rockstar’s own site.
- Ignore videos or links promising a free or early PC copy.
- Don’t disable your antivirus because a download tells you to.
