GTA 6 release date, price and editions: everything to know before November 19

Grand Theft Auto VI is almost here. GTA 6 launches on Thursday, November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, just over two weeks from now. If you plan to buy it, here is the confirmed release date, the price of each edition, when you can pre-load, why the physical version has no disc, and how much storage you need.

When does GTA 6 come out?

GTA 6 is scheduled for November 19, 2026. The game was delayed once before, but publisher Take-Two has repeatedly reaffirmed the date since, and Rockstar has released a final launch trailer ahead of release. The exact unlock time depends on your store and region, so check the game’s page on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store.

Which platforms does GTA 6 support?

• PS5 and PS5 Pro: confirmed.
• Xbox Series X and Series S: confirmed.
• PS4 and Xbox One: not supported. The game is current-generation only.

GTA 6 price and editions

Rockstar confirmed two editions when pre-orders opened on June 25:

• Standard Edition: $79.99 in the US. Retailer guides list £69.99 in the UK and €79.99 in the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Ultimate Edition: $99.99 in the US, with £89.99 in the UK and €99.99 in the Netherlands and Belgium.
• Pre-order bonus: anyone who pre-orders or buys either edition before November 20, 2026 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack.
• GTA+: a Dutch retailer guide says digital pre-orders also include one month of GTA+. Check this in your own store, as bonuses can differ by region.

The Ultimate Edition adds extra content, and reports say the difference goes beyond cosmetics. Look at Rockstar’s editions page for the full list before paying the extra $20. Prices outside the US can vary by store and currency.

Pre-loading and physical copies

• Pre-load: if you pre-order the digital version, you can start downloading on November 12, so you can play the moment the game unlocks.
• Physical copies: they go on sale from November 12 too, but Rockstar says the box contains only a download code, not a disc.

That means a physical copy will not save you the download. It is mostly useful as a gift or for buying from a shop.

How much storage does GTA 6 need?

Listing data reported by the PlayStation Game Size account puts GTA 6 at about 210 GB on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S. This is an unofficial figure, so treat it as a planning number and expect day-one patches on top.

• Check your free space now in your console’s storage settings.
• Delete or archive games you no longer play.
• If you are short on space, consider a compatible SSD or storage expansion card. Prices are rising because of the memory chip shortage, so buy only what you need.

1. Choose your edition and decide whether the Ultimate extras are worth $20 to you.
2. Buy before November 20 to get the Vintage Vice City Pack.
3. Free up about 210 GB on your console.
4. Pre-load from November 12 if you bought digitally.
5. Buy only from official stores and known retailers.
